Language and words have always been my inspiration for images and book design. Six years ago I started playing around with words (in Swedish) spelled with only four letters. I used them as building blocks in images and verses. (See Early books revisited). Recently I returned to collecting words in long lists – again in an ad lib and unsystematic way. It was fun most of the time. Until I realised that I had developed a mild obsession. I had to put an end to it. That is when I started on the three books that would be the final manifestation of the words I had collected. They are the series of leporello books called Leka (Play), Kyss (Kiss) and Sten (Rock) – each one a visual poem made of four-letter words.
